ARC ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE

ARC ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE

Dave Allinson   BA First Class Hons Fine Art
Graduated from Cleveland College of Art and Design in 2000

Michelle Tripp  BA First Class Hons Fine Art
Graduated from CCAD in 1999

Began working together four years ago on ‘A year of the artist’ project called ‘Twelve Hours’ when they realised the benefits of working in collaboration.

Complementing each others skills to achieve high quality work that has gained them a good reputation across the region. The work has ranged from creating a virtual reality piece in the Hemispherium at Teesside University, to directing and producing a piece of theatre with Northern Stage at the Playhouse in May 2003. Their  audio visual installations at the Stockton Parish Church have  become a regular event at the International Festival over the last three years.

The scale of the work has increased also with perhaps the most dramatic being ‘Watershed’ when seven animated drops were projected onto the windows of Centre North East during the Animex festival of 2003 making it the highest animation seen in the region.

Their first year residency at ARC was very much community orientated, working with various groups, schools and organisations. They were then given the responsibility of developing and curating the new top floor gallery in ARC. The visual arts exhibitions at Arc have gone from strength to strength and have gradually become established in the region as a place to view a variety of talented local artists working across a wide range of media.
