Shakespeare's tale of a brilliant, scheming hunchback who murders and seduces his way to the throne. The final chapter of the War of the Roses, Richard III dramatises the life of one of the most diabolical and manipulative, yet charming and witty villains in Shakespeare's canon.

Embittered by his own physical deformities, the power-hungry Richard will stop at nothing to gain control of England, seducing and murdering his way to the throne.

Ben Kidd’s modern dress production for Love&Madness features a moody electro soundscape and has enjoyed critical and audience acclaim in a 10 week run at London’s Riverside Studios.

Love&Madness was founded in 2000 by Artistic Director Neil Sheppeck.  In subsequent years the company has become one of the hardest working companies in the country, producing a wide range of engaging, accessible theatre drawing on classic texts and stories for London seasons and tours of the UK and Ireland.

“It all comes across as clearly as one of the great English stories should.” Benedict Nightingale, The Times

“Racy and¬ understanding of the cut and thrust of political intrigue” Lyn Gardner, The Guardian

“2010 marks a decade of Love&Madness work. Over the past ten years they have accomplished a tremendous amount with numerous tours and productions and their latest show does not disappoint. Here's to the next decade of their work! Long may it continue.” British Theatre Guide
